Catherine Alivio

SENIOR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Catherine joined the Believe and Achieve team in January 2023. 


Catherine is a passionate paediatric occupational therapist and Mum, who seeks to provide the best outcomes for the children and families she has the opportunity to work with.

Catherine works with a strengths-focused, neurodiverse-affirming and trauma-informed approach with a focus on a family-centred care. She aims to support her clients and families to celebrate their strengths and capabilities, while working towards achieving their goals.

Catherine is experienced in working with Autistic and ADHD individuals, individuals with sensory processing disorders, and developmental delays.

Catherine also has extensive experience working in the mental health sector. She has worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety disorders, suicidality, trauma, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and personality disorders.

Catherine has completed additional training in primitive reflex integration, sensory integration and sensory modulation.

Catherine loves being a paediatric occupational therapist where she gets to use play like a superpower, and create opportunities for growth in a safe, supportive environment.

CERTIFICATION

Catherine graduated from Western Sydney University with a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours)/ Master of Occupational Therapy with Honours Class 1 in 2015. 


Her honours research was later published in the British Journal of Occupational Therapy in 2018. 


Catherine is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
