My name is Thompson, and I am an Occupational Therapist passionate about supporting children to build confidence, independence, and enjoyment in their everyday activities.
I chose paediatric occupational therapy because I love helping children learn, grow, and thrive in their daily lives. Seeing their confidence and independence develop through play-based therapy is extremely rewarding and fulfilling and is what inspires me every day.
I have experience across a variety of paediatric and community-based settings, where I supported children with sensory, motor, and emotional regulation challenges. These experiences strengthened my skills in creating play-based, strengths-focused interventions that promote participation in all environments, such as, school and home settings.
I value building trusting relationships with both children and their families, recognising that every child’s journey is unique. My approach is grounded in empathy, creativity, and collaboration, ensuring that therapy is not only effective but also fun and empowering. I believe in celebrating small steps as much as big achievements and in helping children discover their own potential through meaningful play and exploration.
Thompson graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Western Sydney University in 2025.
